New Patients Welcome at Williams, Daily & Frazier Dental

Your first visit sets the foundation for everything that follows. We take time with new patients—typically two hours for a general visit—to understand your concerns, evaluate your oral health thoroughly, and develop a treatment plan that makes sense for your situation. This isn’t a rushed appointment. It’s a comprehensive assessment designed to give us the information we need to take care of you properly.

We serve patients throughout Raleigh, North Raleigh, and North Ridge. Whether you need routine preventive care or you’re facing complex dental work, your first appointment gives us a complete picture of where you are and where you need to go.

What to Expect at Your First General Visit

Plan on spending about two hours with us for your initial appointment. You’ll see both a hygienist and a dentist. This isn’t excessive—it’s thorough. We can’t recommend appropriate treatment without understanding your dental health completely.

Your Appointment Will Include:

Your hygienist will review your medical and dental history, discuss any concerns or symptoms you’re experiencing, and perform a comprehensive hygiene evaluation. If you need a specialized cleaning beyond a routine prophylaxis—such as periodontal therapy—we’ll schedule that for a follow-up appointment with appropriate time allotted.

The dentist will perform a thorough examination that includes:

  • Full series of X-rays to evaluate each tooth individually
  • Panoramic X-ray to assess your entire jaw, sinuses, and bone structure
  • Hard tissue examination (teeth, existing restorations)
  • Soft tissue examination (gums, tongue, cheeks, throat)
  • Oral cancer screening with VELscope technology
  • Periodontal probing to measure gum pocket depths
  • iTero digital scan of your teeth
  • Bite and TMJ evaluation

If we identify issues that need attention, we’ll discuss treatment options, show you visual aids and graphs to help you understand what’s happening, and provide cost estimates before you commit to anything. You’ll have time to ask questions and make informed decisions about your care.

What to Expect for an Implant Consultation

Implant consultations typically take 60 to 90 minutes. There’s more preparation involved because implant treatment is surgical and requires detailed planning.

Your Implant Consultation Includes:

We’ll gather detailed medical history, current medications, and information about your missing teeth and how you lost them. This information guides treatment planning and helps us identify any factors that might affect healing or implant success.

You’ll watch a consultation video that explains the implant process, what to expect during surgery and healing, and how implants function long-term. This gives you foundational knowledge before we discuss your specific case.

We’ll walk you through your treatment from start to finish—diagnostic imaging, surgical planning, implant placement, healing timeline, and final restoration. You’ll understand exactly what happens at each stage, how long it takes, and what your role is in ensuring success.

We’ll capture the necessary imaging (typically a Cone Beam CT scan) to assess your bone structure and plan implant placement. You’ll leave with a clear treatment plan, timeline, and cost breakdown.

Before Your First Appointment

Complete Your Forms Digitally We use digital forms that you can complete online before your appointment. This saves time when you arrive and allows us to review your health history before you get here. You’ll receive a link to the forms when you schedule your appointment, or you can access them through the patient portal.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID
  • Insurance card (if you have dental coverage)
  • List of current medications including dosages
  • Any recent dental X-rays from your previous dentist (if available)

Plan for Time General new patient appointments take about two hours. Implant consultations take 60-90 minutes.

Insurance and Payment Information

We’re a fee-for-service practice, which means we don’t participate in insurance networks. This allows us to recommend treatment based on what’s clinically appropriate—not what insurance companies will cover.

We file insurance claims on your behalf as a courtesy. You pay your full fee at the time of service, and your insurance company reimburses you directly. Before treatment we can provide a full estimate, but this sometimes slows treatment and patients elect to proceed before the preestimate arrives.

Not sure what your dental insurance covers? We’ll verify your benefits at no charge and provide an estimate of your coverage and out-of-pocket costs.

We offer financing through CareCredit and Proceed Financing for patients who prefer to spread treatment costs over time. CareCredit offers interest-free payment plans when paid within the promotional period. We also provide a cash advance discount for patients paying in full.
